New film introduces 'GRID: The Home Your Innovation Needs'

4 Nov 2026

Glasgow Riverside Innovation District (GRID) has launched a new marketing video that captures the energy, ambition and collaborative spirit at the heart of the district.

Featuring voices from across GRID’s partner network, the film highlights the unique strengths that make the district one of Scotland’s most exciting locations for innovation, investment and inclusive economic growth.

The film also introduces a new central marketing proposition for the district: ‘GRID: The Home Your Innovation Needs.’ The message reflects GRID’s commitment to providing the environment, connections, expertise and support that enable businesses and founders to ‘start here, scale here, and stay here.’

Perspectives

Filmed over two days in August at a range of locations across the district, the video brings together perspectives from organisations, businesses and institutions helping to shape GRID’s future.

Through their contributions, viewers gain a first-hand insight into a place where communities, industry, academia and the public sector come together to drive transformational change.

The film reinforces GRID’s core message as a dynamic and inclusive innovation district on the banks of the River Clyde, supported by partners including the University of Glasgow, Glasgow City Council and Scottish Enterprise.

It also reflects GRID’s wider ambition of “building new industries for a better Glasgow and a better world”, while showcasing the knowledge excellence, world-class assets, connectivity and collaborative culture that continue to attract innovators and investors to the district.

The film is among a package of marketing assets and a brand refresh created by agency RBL.

Dr Susie Mitchell, Head of GRID, said: “This video is an important new asset for the district. It brings together the voices of the people and organisations who are helping to make GRID such a distinctive place to innovate, invest and grow. While statistics and reports can tell part of the story, hearing directly from our partners conveys the energy, ambition and collaborative culture that exists across the district.

“We want prospective founders, businesses and investors to see not only the world-class research, talent and infrastructure that GRID offers, but also the strength of the connections between industry, academia, the public sector and communities.

"This film helps showcase that unique ecosystem and demonstrates why Glasgow Riverside Innovation District is a place where great ideas can be developed, scaled and translated into real-world impact.”

While statistics and reports can tell part of the story, hearing directly from our partners conveys the energy, ambition and collaborative culture that exists across the district.

GRID would like to thank everyone who took part in the filming and shared their experiences and insights, as well as the organisations that helped facilitate the production. Special thanks go to Glasgow Science Centre and Kadans Science Partners and the many partners and stakeholders who contributed their time, expertise and enthusiasm to help bring the story of GRID to life.

We hope the video offers a compelling introduction to the district and the people who are helping create a thriving ecosystem for innovation, entrepreneurship and opportunity along Glasgow’s riverside.
