Civic Grant Fund 2026
The GRID Civic Grant Fund is open for applications following its successful launch in 2024 - please apply if you think you are eligible by following the instructions below.
The support is being provided by the University of Glasgow as the anchor academic institution for the Innovation District, which is a partnership between the University, Glasgow City Council and Scottish Enterprise.
Community groups, charities and projects working within Glasgow Riverside Innovation District (GRID) can apply for grants of £1,000 to £5,000 from the Civic Grant Fund. The GRID Civic Micro Grant Fund, open throughout the year, is now also accepting submissions for its third wave.
Examples of projects eligible for funding may cover: Equality, Diversity & Inclusion focused initiatives; Health, Wellbeing and Fitness / Sport; Sustainability and climate change; Food poverty; Arts, heritage, and culture; Education, and outreach; Finance / debt advice; Any group set up to represent underrepresented groups in society or special interest groups; or Community spaces.
The Funds were set up by the University to support communities in its surrounding areas, and are intended to help local groups make an enduring positive impact for those living, working and learning within GRID, which is comprised of G3, G11, G12, and G51 postcodes.
Please note: Projects funded through the GRID Civic Grant Fund can only start after 1 September 2026, and the timeline provided should reflect the duration of the project specific to the GRID funding element. Also, we aim for a minimum turnaround time of 6 weeks for micro fund applications.

- When you have read through the Guidance Note and Terms & Conditions, click on the boxes below to access Application Forms for the larger Civic Grant Fund or the Civic Micro Grant Fund.
- All successful applicants will be required to complete a short End of Project Report Form at the end of their projects.
- We also provide mock application forms for both the Civic Grant Fund and the Civic Micro Grant Fund which you can review to prepare your submission.
- We will be hosting two In-person Drop-In sessions where you can receive one-to-one support with your application, on Tuesday 16 June 2026 (morning block session) and Thursday 2 July (afternoon block session).
